How are you? Congratulations to grooming 2 of the UOB painting of the year winners!

I hope you can still remember me. I am Amelia, you taught me Art during my first 3 months in Jurong Junior College back in 2001! Then, I left for SAJC and couldn’t get back into JJ even though u tried to convince the then principal otherwise? Ring a bell? Well, if you can’t remember, it’s ok.

I just want to tell you that after reading the newspaper article on about you on LIFE last week, I felt compelled to write you an email cos’ I finally know your full name (forgot after so long, somehow I don’t have your hp number)!!!

I did not know how to re-establish contact with you after so many years cos’ I can only remember you as MR Chia! L

I was very touched by the article as it brought back memories of how you’ve always encouraged me and believed in my abilities. I think your belief in your students can really motivate them to realise their inner talents. It’s a pity I had to let mine go so quickly. (the article about you kinda spurred me to stop procrastinating and do something about my love for drawing… anyway that’s a story for another time)

Thank you, because you have been such a wonderful teacher. A teacher whom I still respect till today and will never forget!
